How does the IQ Test in Number Series work?

The IQ Test is a timed set of multiple-choice questions across five abilities — pattern recognition, logical reasoning, working memory, processing speed and numerical reasoning. Choose 15, 25 or 50 questions; at the end you get an IQ-style score and a breakdown by category. It is for fun, not a clinical assessment.

The questions are split evenly across the five categories, and each category starts with a short card telling you what’s next.

The five abilities

CategoryIn the app’s wordsWhat the questions look like
Pattern Recognition”Find the hidden rules in sequences”A sequence like “4, 6, 18, 20, 60, ?” and four answers
Logical Reasoning”Use deductive thinking to solve problems""If Y is 5 more than Z, and X is 3 times Y, and Z = 4, what is X?” or which of A–D is largest
Working Memory”Remember and manipulate information”Remember numbers, then recall them in order, pick the one at a position, or follow a running calculation
Processing Speed”Make quick decisions under pressure”Quick-fire questions — which is larger, a quick multiplication, or which statement is true
Numerical Reasoning”Understand number relationships""2 is to 8 as 3 is to ?” or “If 6 items cost $48, how much do 5 items cost?”

Each question has its own timer — the bar under the category name.

Every question is timed. Questions adapt as you go: two right in a row in a category and the next one is harder; two wrong and it gets easier.

Your score

The result screen shows your IQ Score, a rating such as “Sharp Mind” or “Brilliant Thinker”, and a Category Breakdown with how many you got right in each ability. The score takes into account your accuracy, your speed and how hard the questions you reached were.

From the result you can Share Result, Retake Test or View History to see your past tests. Completing the test also earns XP and fills in the cognitive profile on the Progress tab.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pause the test and finish it later?
Yes. Your answers are saved as you go, so if you leave in the middle the IQ Test card shows Resume with your progress. An unfinished test can be resumed for up to 7 days.
What happens if I run out of time on a question?
It counts as a wrong answer and the test moves on. Processing Speed questions are deliberately quick; pattern questions give you much longer.
Is this a real IQ test?
No. As the app says, it is "For entertainment only — not a standardized cognitive assessment." It is a fun way to see your relative strengths and to track them over time.
